Witch and Wizard by James Patterson: Recommended by Raphael 7B

I read the graphic novel version of the Witch and the Wizard. The artwork was amazing, and the story well written with relatable characters who had a clear mission. The plot is of a brother and sister who are forced to go on the run because of their magical powers, whilst trying to defeat the ‘One Who is the One’. At the same time, they are seeking their parents and trying to learn how to control their magic. I highly recommend this amazing book and give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. If you enjoy the graphic novel version, the full-length paperback edition is also available in the school library.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: Recommended by Lucy and Faye 9B

If you are looking for a dystopian, slightly tragic, slightly romantic book set in a game of life or death, then you will love the story about the girl on fire, Katniss Everdeen.  The twisted games will break her heart and she will learn to love at the same time. When sixteen-year-old Katniss and a boy who saved her are forced to compete in the televised ‘Hunger Games’, she had to learn to survive being hunted or be killed.
