Seven Ghosts by Chris Priestley: Recommended by Tancred 7B

Seven Ghosts has one of the most tangled plots I have ever read.  As soon as you open the book you can’t stop reading it, and although I don’t want to spoil it, there is an amazing twist at the end. It is about a boy called Jake, who has won a writing competition and a visit to a stately home, where the tour guide tells seven ghostly tales. As he goes from room to room, he keeps seeing strange shapes and shadows. Jake discovers that he is not as ordinary as he thought and stands out on his own from the other competition winners. Halloween is coming up so you should try this book. Also, if you are not into long books then this is the perfect read for you.

The Wizards of Once by Cressida Cowell: Recommended by Oliver 7C

The Wizards of Once by Cressida Cowell is a funny fantasy story about a wizard with no magic and a warrior princess and her bodyguard, who hold a dangerous secret. But when the stars collide, can they do what they can to stop the witches? This book would be good for someone who likes comedy with a touch of magic and mischief. It is the first book in and an amazing series!
