Hunger by Michael Grant: Reviewed by Luke Andrews 7B

I would recommend this book 100%, along side the first book in the series called Gone. It is a very enjoyable read, although quite gruesome in places. It shows the skills and powers of young people when no one else there to help. People starve and yet they still find a way to survive, even when monstrous worms rule the fields and a huge demon lies in wait in the gold mines below.

The characters are set into three groups that are eager to conquer each other; the bad guys, the freaks (people with powers) and the humans.

I won’t give too much away, but I would rate this book five stars as some of the main characters are courageous, brave and all out heroes. I recommend it to all those who are brave enough to read about horror, torture and adventure. Good Luck!
